About VRF/VRV Air Conditioning Systems for Large Buildings
On larger air conditioning projects, a VRF/VRV (Variable Refrigerant Flow/Variable Refrigerant Volume) system is often the preferred choice.
The VRF/VRV air condition system can have large numbers of indoor units connected to an outside condensing unit. Each indoor unit can be individually controlled allowing heating or cooling in different areas. This type of system also has the benefit of being able to deal with long pipe runs between indoor and outdoor units.
VRF/VRV air condition systems are very energy efficient as they are able to matches the internal cooling or heating loads by using variable speed inverter compressors. They also recover waste heat produced during the cooling cycle, which can then be used to heat other parts of a building or supplement hot water requirements.

Is a VRF/VRV air conditioning system right for your building?

Because a single outdoor condensing unit can serve dozens of indoor units, VRF/VRV systems are often more space-efficient than installing multiple standalone systems, and simpler to maintain since everything runs through one coordinated system.
One of the key advantages of VRF/VRV air conditioning systems is simultaneous heating and cooling.
